What we're looking for:

High-concept, gritty, psychological films that also have international appeal.

Horror and thriller stories are highly desirable, as long as they attempt to exceed typical B-movie fare. Screenplays should push boundaries and expectations, and introduce us to environments and situations that are intriguing and fresh. Memento, Leon, Irreversible, Ghost Dog, Angel Heart, Bad Lieutenant, The Machinist, Taxi Driver, Dead Man Walking and 21 Grams are all good examples of the kinds of stories we’re looking for.

More recent films would be : Bronson, Harry Brown, Mum and Dad, Sugarhouse, Creep, and Gangster No1.

Mem’s role may either be as central protagonist, such as Leonard in Memento, or a strong, memorable secondary character, such as Hannibal Lector in The Silence of the Lambs.

Alternatively, perhaps you have a screenplay that successfully plays against type in an interesting way.

Whatever your story is about, the screenplay should have a solid focus on character without losing sight of the story's main concept, theme or 'hook'.
